Yes — absolutely. You don’t need to be in crisis to seek support. If something is affecting your quality of life, your relationships, or your sense of yourself, it matters. Many people wait far longer than they need to because they worry they don’t “qualify.” You do.
This is something many people wonder. Trauma isn’t defined by the size of an event — it’s about its impact on you. If you’re carrying something that’s affecting how you feel and how you live, I’d gently encourage you to get in touch. We can explore it together, without pressure or expectation.
I’m sorry to hear that. A previous experience that didn’t feel helpful is more common than you might think — and it doesn’t mean therapy can’t work for you. The right fit, the right approach, and the right pacing make an enormous difference. I’d welcome the chance to talk with you about what you’re looking for and whether I might be able to offer something different.
You never have to share anything before you’re ready. Therapy at its best is not about being pushed — it’s about being supported to move at a pace that feels safe for you. I will always follow your lead.
The initial session focuses on getting to know each other. We’ll explore your reasons for seeking therapy and your goals, leaving you with a clear plan for how I can assist you.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long. Occasionally, for certain trauma-focused work, sessions may extend to 80 minutes.
The number of sessions varies based on the issue you’re addressing. While I usually recommend a minimum of 16 sessions for meaningful progress, a more accurate estimate can be provided after your initial session.
No, you don’t. Transparent communication is essential, and we’ll discuss the duration of therapy together. Your unique situation may require more or fewer sessions, and I’m flexible to accommodate your needs.
Weekly sessions are recommended for optimal benefits. A consistent time each week is usually arranged for your convenience.
Progress extends beyond our session time, and your active engagement between sessions is important. Depending on our therapeutic approach, you may be invited to try exercises, reflective activities, journaling, skill-building practices, or other tasks that support continuous growth.
The decision to conclude therapy is collaborative and a vital part of our work. Throughout our sessions we’ll regularly review your progress and openly discuss whether to continue or move toward ending. Endings are typically gradual — reducing frequency over weeks or months — with monthly reviews to ensure the gains made are sustained as you transition beyond regular therapy.
Open communication is fundamental to our work. If at any point you feel discomfort or have concerns, please know that bringing those feelings into the room is not only welcomed but encouraged. We can explore them together and find a way forward that feels right for you.
